The wood processing industry has been identified as one of the most perspective sectors for restructuring of the industry in the region due to its long tradition and raw material resources.
The main objective of the Moravian-Silesian Wood Cluster is to build a growing woodworking sector in the region within five years. This sector would become a major supplier and exporter of wood constructions and innovative components for wooden structures and houses.
Not only is the participation of commercial companies important to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the cluster, but also cooperation with colleges, universities, research institutes, government and public administration, as well as utilization of research results and development of new technologies and innovations, increasing education of employees, finding new business opportunities and possibilities to gain access to foreign markets.
